Rams vs 'Skins
This Sunday the Rams are playing the Redskins here in DC. I've had about a hundred people as me if I'm going. Heck no, the last two Rams game I went to were embarassing.
The most recent was in 2007, week six, in Baltimore. In that game, Gus Frerotte threw FIVE interceptions, and he was pummeled mercilessly by the Ravens D. No thanks to the Rams injury decimated O-line. Frerotte was yanked (mercifully) at the end of the game and Marques Hagans was inserted to finish the capitulation. Capitulate they did as Hagans took a knee on the last possession of the game to get it over with, I think they had the plane warmed up at halftime. It was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen a pro football team do.
The game before that was in 2004, week 11, in Buffalo. That game was decent for a half, then got downright disgusting as the Rams special teams proved themselves very special indeed. First, Buffalo returned a punt for 53 yards to the Rams 5 yard line. They punched it in the next play for a TD. The ensuing Rams possession ended in a punt that Buffalo returned 86 yards for a TD. THEN (you thought it was over?) on the ensuing kick off return the Rams muffed the fair catch and Buffalo recovered and converted it into another field goal. It literally made me sick to my stomach to watch that comedy of errors.
So, thanks but no thanks. I'd rather not watch this year's 0-4 team blunder around the FedEx field for a couple hours this Sunday. I have better things to do, not to mention spend my $100 on.
