What a gorgeous day today. Made all the better by the fact that I had to stay home and wait for the home appliance repairman to come and look at my oven.

I'm sitting on my patio in the shade of my back deck with the laptop and the wifi from my new LinkSys router. It's absolutely wonderful. THIS is what work should be. Sun, Grass, the Dog, a nice breeze, and the internet :)

Looks like I've got some learning to do if I want to get this site working how I envision it. I'll need to either get in on some of the open source modules already under development or I'll have to roll my own.

What I'm looking for is a type of user generated home page ability a la MySpace, Facebook, etc. I also want a sharp, shiny, Picasa module. I found a Picasa module the other day but it's kind of drab.

I also want a javascript or css menu that works. I downloaded a couple modules that claim to offer this but the ones I tried didn't seem to work.

The site has changed hosts and is now hosted at Dreamhost. With the new host comes some new features including support for email generated by the site. So now when you request a new account you'll actually be notified with details. Same goes for changing your password and sending feedback.

I gave up trying to configure sendmail and postfix on my home Ubuntu server. I don't get paid for this and spending my weekends futzing with SSL certificates, SASL, STARTTLS, and telnet just wasn't worth it. I have nightmares about conf files now.
